System Settings allow you to customize many usability features based on your preference.
The system settings tab has two sections - Custom Settings and Scan Settings.
Show live monitoring system tray notification:
Checking this option will notify you with a pop up message whenever Spyware Detector kills any spyware executable while performing live monitoring for your PC. This is done as a part of process monitoring in Max Shield. By default this option is enabled.
ii. Clean Temp Folder after Quarantine:
This option is by default enabled. After you quarantine the spyware detected by Spyware Detector, it also deletes all the files from the temp folder. It is recommended to keep this option checked as there are many spyware, which keep their files and executables in this Temp folder.
iii. Clean Temporary Internet Files after Quarantine:
This option will let Spyware Detector clean your Temporary Internet files folder after every quarantine. It is recommended to keep this option checked as many spyware programs keep their executables in this folder. Enabled by default.
iv. Show Tips at startup:
Checking this option will show you the Tips window whenever you open Spyware Detector. Enabled by default.
v. Show splash screen:
Checking this option will show you the Spyware Detector Splash screen whenever you reboot the PC, notifying you that your system is protected by Spyware Detector. Enabled by default.
vi. Automatic Live Update:
Checking this option will automatically check for the live updates at each start up and download them if they are available. If this option is unchecked you need to do live updates manually by clicking on the Live Update button on the main interface of the product. Enabled by default.
i. Generic Keylogger Scan:
Checking this option will scan your PC for detection of generic keyloggers. Enabled by default.
ii. Start scan when Windows start:
Checking this option will automatically schedule the Spyware Detector to start scanning the system every time you restart your computer. This option is disabled by default.
If you do check this box, you can select whether the results of the scan are to be only logged or if any spyware detected should be quarantined as well.
