Set Automatic Schedule Timer

Making Automatic Scheduled Recordings:

The application that you want to record from, such as Windows Media Player or the device, such as an FM receiver, must be connected to the desired site or set to the proper radio station. The application or device must be left running. Make sure the proper input source is selected and the recording volume is set.

Click Options, then select a button to record Once, Daily or Weekly.

To record Once, select your desired start date from the drop-down calendar.

  • Select the start time.
  • Select the Automatic Recording Length.
  • Click the Set button.
  • Click OK.

To record Daily at the same time every day:

  • Select the start time.
  • Select the Automatic Recording Length.
  • Click the Set button.
  • Click OK.

To record Weekly on the same day of the week every week:

  • Select the day.
  • Select the start time.
  • Select the Automatic Recording Length.
  • Click the Set button.
  • Click OK.

Once you click the Set button, all of the schedule day and time adjustments are locked. To change settings, click the Cancel button. Your automatic schedule status is shown on the main interface.

Easy Hi-Q Recorder must also be left running for the automatic recording to take place.

(The new feature: Open Recorder at System Startup, when selected, will automatically open Easy Hi-Q Recorder each time your computer starts up. This is handy if you have automatic recordings scheduled. But you'll have to make sure that the application that you want to record from is running and set to the proper URL or station.

This feature is also handy if your computer is running unattended and there is a power failure. If your PC can reboot itself when the power resumes, the recorder will also start itself up).

You can minimize it to the Taskbar or under Options you can select Minimize to System Tray, (which is near your system clock), then click OK and click the Minimize button. An icon will appear there that you can double-click to show the recorder or right-click to show or exit.

The recording will be made at the desired time.

You can make manual recordings prior to the automatic start time. They won't interfere with your schedule. But, if you have a manual recording in progress when your start time arrives, the automatic recording will be aborted.

Important Note:

If the Automatic Schedule Timers are not working for you, it's because your system time is set to the 24 hour format. Your system time must be set to the 12 hour format that uses AM and PM to make the timers work properly.

To access system time, go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, double click on: (International Settings, Regional Settings or Regional and Language Options).

Click the Time tab. Look at Time style:

Any "Time style:" that starts with two "h's" means that the 24 hour format will be used.
hh:mm:ss tt = 24 hour

Any "Time style:" that starts with one "h" means that the 12 hour format will be used.
h:mm:ss tt = 12 hour

Select a 12 hour Time style, click Apply, OK.

Also, make sure to click the Set button in the recorder Options or the scheduled recording will not start.
