Indicators

There are two ways to plot indicators:

  1. Use AnalyzerXL Wizard.
  2. Manually enter formula into a cell.

Using AnalyzerXL Wizard

  1. Open AnalyzerXL Wizard.
  2. Select function, for example Stochastic Oscillator Alert.
  3. Click Next button.
  4. Choose Type of output data, for example Expert Function. (See What is expert for more information).
  5. Into field “High(%D)”, enter the cell reference for the range of High prices.
  6. Into field “Low(%D)”, enter the cell reference for the range of Low prices.
  7. Into field “Close(%D)”, enter the cell reference for the range of Close prices.
  8. Into field “Output range”, enter the cell reference for the range of output data.
  9. Enter period as 3.
  10. Enter slowing as 2.
  11. Click Finish button.

Manually enter formula into a cell

  1. Click the cell in which you want to enter the formula.
  2. Type = (an equal sign).
  3. If you click Edit Formula , Microsoft Excel inserts an equal sign for you.
  4. Enter the formula, e.g. =ALERT_D8020(B2:B7;C2:C7;D2:D7;3;2;1).
  5. Press ENTER.
