Behavior
Keep file's original timestamp after tag update: A file's date and time is automatically updated by the OS to reflect the current date and time when it is altered or updated. Check this box to have Library Clinic keep a record of a file's original timestamp before a tag update is made, and have it restored afterwards.
Allow rename of read-only files: Check to enable the renaming of files marked as "read-only" on your file system. Uncheck to disallow the renaming of read-only files.
Selecting a second row unselects the first row: Ordinarily, clicking on the row number of any Editor row selects that row and automatically adds it to the collection of selected rows. When this option is checked, however, this behavior is reversed. Clicking on the row number of any second row automatically dismisses selection of the first row and selects the second. Enabling this option can be useful when filename formats vary widely from row to row, forcing extraction of text from filename-to-tag a row at a time. This option only effects behavior when one row is selected in the Editor. Note that you can momentarily reverse the default behavior selected here by holding the Control Key depressed while selecting the second row.
Show popup menu hints in statusbar: When enabled, popup menu hints describing the function of context menu selections are displayed in the Statusbar as the mouse is passed over them.
Enable separate Separators for each page: The Separator used for file name constructions and file name-to-tag extractions can be specified on the Main Menu, the Main Editor's multi-tag popup menu, or on the Rename Page. By default, when you change it in one location, the change is propagated everywhere it's used. Checking this options allows a different Separator to be specified for each of the three primary pages that use it: the two Main Editor pages and the Rename Page.
Hide program while using main picture viewer: Check to have the main program removed from view while viewing images with the main Picture Viewer.
Auto-refresh after folder scanning enabled/disabled: Check to have tags automatically re-read and edit lists refreshed whenever folder scanning is enabled or disabled with the Scanning Button on the top panel.
Auto-show/hide location column: Automatically expose the Location column when folder scanning is enabled, and hide it when it's turned off.
Auto-position subeditors: Check this option to have the program automatically position subeditors (the Comment Editor, User Text Editor, URL Editor, etc.) to the right or left of the column being edited, whenever possible.
Return to start row after using subeditor/viewer: Subeditors and image viewers can browse from row-to-row, tag-to-tag while in use. Check this option to have the program return the Main Editor's focus to the row that had focus before the subeditor or viewer was executed, after the subeditor or viewer closes.
Enable previews when renaming via popup menu: By checking this option you can choose to preview proposed file name changes before files are actually renamed when using the "Rename " function on the Main Editor's context popup menu. When enabled, current and proposed file names are presented in a list for approval before renaming is performed. When unchecked, file renames via popup menu are performed immediately and without preview. Applies to renames via popup menu only; whole-folder renames performed on the Rename Page are always previewed.
Add 'Send To' link to system context menu: Add a link file "Library Clinic vX.X.lnk" (where "X.X" is a version number) to the "Send To" section of the system context menu. With this link installed, you can select a file or folder in a file Browser, right-click it with the mouse, then choose the link from the context menu's "Send To" section to have Library Clinic execute into a selected folder, or a selected file's location.
Do fast library loads when not linking to tags: Some columns available in iTunes Mode are populated with data obtained directly from files rather than from an iTunes library, since the information is not (or may not be) available there. These columns include the File Size, Bit Rate, Sample Rate, Stereo/Mono Mode, Has Video, Playtime, and Picture columns. The process of opening and examining files to retrieve information for these columns can significantly increase the processing time required to load libraries into the Editor. When this option is enabled, these columns will be populated only if it's available in the library itself, and will not be retrieved from files if not found. This can greatly increase the library load speed. Applicable to iTunes Mode, only when the library view is not automatically linking to physical files via the Link-to-Tags button .
Always get picture count: When fast library loads are performed, as described above, do a quick link to file tags just to retrieve a picture count for populating the Picture Column.
Enable empty field catch ups: When catching up iTunes with tags , empty tag fields are normally ignored to prevent corresponding library fields that are not empty from being inadvertently erased. Likewise, when catching up tags with iTunes , empty iTunes fields are ordinarily ignored for a similar reason. Checking this box will allow blank fields to be considered valid data when performing these functions, in effect changing the catch up behavior from an "update" to a "copy."
Add standard playlist categories to new library files: When creating new libraries, iTunes normally adds several default categories of playlists, from "90's Music" through "Podcasts." Check this box to have these categories added to new libraries you make with iT Library Clinic.
Minimize after launching iTunes: Auto-minimize Library Clinic into the Windows' taskbar when launching iTunes via the launch button (<Alt+8>).usicBrainz is a free online database service used by Library Clinic to look up tag data upon request (see Help section MusicBrainz).

MusicBrainz Server: Web address and port number to use for accessing the MusicBrainz server. Click the "Set to default" button to use the standard, default server address and port number.
Proxy Server: If you use a proxy server, enter the applicable name, port number, user name, and password here as needed for accessing the MusicBrainz server. Check the "Use proxy to connect" box to enable use of the proxy server. |
