Itunes Playlist Editor
Access: Menu > Itunes > Edit playlists, <Ctrl+Alt+7>, Toolbar A button
Use the Playlist Editor to add, remove, or edit iTunes playlists.

Use the popup menu on the playlist column or on selected files in the file list to access the following editing functions. Rows are selected in this list in the same manner as in the main editor, by clicking or dragging the mouse on the row number column.
Playlist Popup -
- Add files: Brings up a list of files currently found in the main editor. Select applicable rows on this list and click the "Add" button.
- Paste files: Installs files that have been copied via the File List Popup menu into the selected playlist.
- Remove list: Removes the selected playlist from the library.
- Rename list: Allows edit of an existing playlist's name.
- New list: Adds a new playlist to the library.
- Remove empties: Removes playlists from the library that contain no files.
File List Popup -
- Remove: Removes selected files from their respective playlists. Will remove the playlist itself if no files remain in it.
- Cut: Prepares selected files for removal from their current location so they can be pasted into another list via the "Paste files" function above.
- Copy: Prepares selected files for paste into another list via the "Paste files" function above.
Options -
Remove empty lists on load: Check this option to have playlists that contain no files automatically removed as the Playlist Editor is initially loaded with files.
Remove duplicate lists on load: Check to have second and subsequent same-name playlists automatically removed as the Playlist Editor is loaded with files.
Undo: Discard all changes made to playlists and reload the Playlist Editor.
Add List: Creates a new playlist and adds it to the list.
Save and Exit: Commit all changes made and return to main editor.
Cancel: Discard all changes made and return to main editor.
Note that iTunes can have qualifications for list entries in its standard lists that are not enforced by this Editor. For example, an acceptable file for the "TV Shows" category in iTunes requires that a file be a video file with entries in the Show, Season, Episode ID, Episode Number, and TV Network fields, and with a genre of "TV Shows" and a "Stik" column entry of "TV Show." |
