PasteDown Panel
Access: Menu > View > PasteDown Panel, <Alt+A>, click number 4 on the Toolbar Toggle Pad (Top Toolbar A), Paste tab when visible
The "Paste" functions that exist on popup menus in the Editor are convenient for pasting data into a single cell or a single column, but it's often helpful to be able to paste data from more than one tag field at a time. The PasteDown Panel fills this need by allowing the paste of any number of tag fields into multiple files selected in the Editor.

Clicking into any row in the Main Editor sets the PasteDown Panel's focus to that file and initiates a load of the file's tag into the left-hand pane. Each of the seven primary tag fields can be individually enabled or disabled for pasting by checking or unchecking respective check boxes on the right. Data in these fields may be edited before pasting. Tag fields in the right-hand pane have no edit boxes but may also be checked to have their field contents included in a paste. Only checked fields are pasted. To paste enabled tag fields into files in the Editor, select desired rows* in the Editor and press the Paste button .
Toggle: Checks/unchecks all tag fields in the left-hand pane.
Clear: Removes text from all fields in the PasteDown Panel. This will not remove data from the tag itself.
Data Source: Shows the tag type in view in the PasteDown Panel. May be clicked to select the type for MP3s, either the ID3v1 or ID3v2 tag.
Reload: Re-read the current file's tag into the left-hand pane.
Paste: Tag data in each enabled field is written to files selected in the Main Editor. The button takes on this appearance anytime one or more files are selected in the Main Editor.
± Buttons: Toggle buttons for enabling/disabling related groups of tag fields in the right-hand pane.
Close panel.
When saving Comments to multiple non-ID3v1 tags, caret symbols (^) in Comment fields are interpreted as newline characters. When saving to ID3v1 tags, these are automatically replaced with space characters before writing to the tag. See topic Comment Editor for additional details about multi-line Comments.
*Selecting Rows: Selecting files in the Main Editor is much like selecting files in a file browser. Here, however, the mouse is used on row numbers rather than on filenames. A single file is selected (highlighted) by clicking the mouse on the file's row number (first column). Click it again and it becomes unselected. Multiple files can be selected in several ways:
- To select files one at a time, in any order, select the first one as above, then continue clicking additional row numbers to either add or remove rows from the selection.
- To select consecutive files, position the mouse pointer over the first row number to be selected, then depress and hold down the left mouse button while dragging the mouse down or up the first column and across row numbers of the block of files you want to select. Repeat this process as needed to add additional files.
- An alternate way to select consecutive files is to select the first file as described in 1) above, then hold the shift-key down while selecting the last. All files from the first to the last are selected. Repeat this process as needed to add additional files.
- Select all rows at once by clicking the "Select All" button
on the Top Toolbar B.
