View Log Files

Use the Logs menu to View the 4 available log files.

These windows are modeless, meaning that you can interact with NetworkView while they are open. You can also reposition and resize them according to your needs.

  • Select the Logs menu, Event Log to view the <docname>.his file. This file contains the UP and DOWN events
  • Select the Logs menu, Email Log to view the <docname>.log file. This file contains all the sent emails

The two files above are specific to the document.

  • Select the Logs menu, Discovery Log to view the log.txt file, Discovery. This file contains the detail of the discovery process.
  • Select the Logs menu, Error Log to view the smtperr.log file. This file may contain errors in SMTP transactions.

The two previous files are common to all documents.

  • Use the Refresh button to reload the file
  • Use the Purge button to empty the file
  • Use the Find button to find an item in any column
