Repeating Events
By default, any event that you enter in the calendar occurs one time only. To repeat an event, click on the Repeat tab in the event window. Select the type of repeat pattern.
For birthdays, anniversaries, etc. select Yearly and then select the Month and Day Number. For example, every year on June 24

Other repeat patterns:
Custome Repeat
This is for events that don't really have a mathematical pattern. For example, an event that occurs on June 5th, June 6th and June 16th of year 2001.
Custome repeat can also be useful for any repeating events that occur a few times within a short period, because you can just add the dates without having to think about the repeat pattern. For example you can use it instead of using Weekly repeat. Each custome event can have up to 50 occurences. So if you have an event that occurs 51 times in one year, you can't use custome repeat. Try weekly or monthly pattern for such events (or use two custom events).
Yearly/Weekday
These are events that occur every year on a specific weekday. For example, First Monday in August. This pattern used for many holidays in the United States and Canada.
Yearly/Weekday/Month
These are events that occur every year on a certain month, on a certain weekday, before or after a certain day of month. For example, Monday On or Before June 24. This type of repeat pattern is used in many countries in Europe.
Yearly/Easter
This includes Easter Monday and Good Friday. They are all relative to Easter Sunday.
Monthly
These are events that occur every month on a certain day. For example, pay rent on day 1 of every month.
Monthly/Weekday
These are events that occur every month on a certain weekday. For example, first monday of every month (may not be very useful!)
Weekly
These are events that occur every week on a certain weekday (or weekdays). For example, every week on Monday, or every week on Tuesday.
Daily
For daily repeat pattern use can click on Weekly pattern the check every week day. An event that occurs every day is equal to an event that occurs every week on Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fir,Sat and Sun.
Limit occurences
This option can be useful for event that have a Weekly repeat pattern. For example, if you added a weekly event, then that event would appear everywhere in the calendar. Normally, you would want to limit the event to one month or so. To do so, check the "Limit occurences" box, click on the dates for No earlier than and No later than. For example, the event occur no earlier than June 24th 2001 and July 24th 2001, other words it occurs between these 2 dates only.
