Defrag Methods
There are three methods to choose from:
Fast Defrag
This strategy will defragment all possible files but not will move them to a better position on the disk.
This strategy should be used if only a quick defragmentation of fragmented files is needed.
NOTE: Running a Defrag will not accomplish much if you have been running Defrag in the proactive or background mode (see section on Defragmentation modes). On FAT formatted volumes this selection is ignored and the default strategy for FAT volumes is used.
Normal Defrag
This strategy will defragment all possible files and move them to a better position on the disk for faster drive access. This provides a more thorough defragmentation optimization of the disk. This strategy should be used if the files on the disk are not often modified.
NOTE: This procedure is considerably slower than the Defrag but provides more complete optimization. It is not necessary to use this mode every time, unless the time needed to run the procedure is not important.
On FAT formatted volumes this selection is ignored and the default strategy for FAT volumes is used.
Intelligent Defrag/M
This strategy will defragment all possible files and move them to a better position on the disk for faster drive access, while leaving often fragmented files at the end of the used space of your partition.
This strategy should be used if a lot of files on the disk are often modified.
On FAT formatted volumes this selection is ignored and the default strategy for FAT volumes is used.
