File Splitter & Joiner
This module enables you to split large files into two or more smaller files. Later you can then use the Joiner function to reassemble the original large file from the set of split files. There are many uses for this function. For example, you can use it to split files that are too big to fit on a CD so that you can store them on two or more CDs. Or you can split large files you want to send as email attachments (many email providers impose limits on the maximum size of email attachments). In the screenshot below you see the main dialog of the File Splitter & Joiner.

Split a File into smaller Files
To split a file with File Splitter & Joiner is really simple and takes only a few steps.
- First you select the file you want to split by using the Browse button.
- Please select the file size for the single parts either from the proposal list or enter a used defined file sizeusing the arrows in the User-defined file size field.
- Click on the Next > to proceed.
- The module will now generate the single parts. This will not delete the original file. The new files will be stored in the same folder like the original file. The first part will get the extension ".part00000"; the second one ".part00001" and so on.
- Clicking on OK in the confirmation dialog brings you back to the startscreen of File Splitter & Joiner.
To rejoin a file with File Splitter & Joiner is also simple.
- Please select one of the components by using the Browse button. It does not matter which part of the components you take. As soon as you have selected one part, the modul displays the information about the original file and the number of (required) components.
- Click on Next > to proceed.
- The module will now rejoin all components into one single file. If you confirm the prompt with YES the original file will be overwritten. This will not delete the previously generated single components.
- Clicking on OK in the confirmation dialog brings you back to the startscreen of File Splitter & Joiner.
If one or more components are missing File Splitter & Joiner tries to rejoin all parts, beginning with the "start file" with the extension ".part00000".
Example: You have split a file into six parts and due to some bad circumstances part 3 which should have the extension ".part00002" is missing. In this case the module will only rejoin the first two parts.
