Configuration
PC Surgeon has several general configuration options as well as specific configurations for the System and Realtime activity monitors.
To access the configuration form click on the "Configure" option under the "File" menu or right click on the PCSurgeon icon in the system tray and select "Configure" from the popup menu.
There are 4 main configuration topics (each with a tab):
General Settings.
- Identifier text for reports. This should be a user name or unique identifier.
- Default report file. Local or remote folder location.
- Language translation file.
- Window position. Will override current position.
Startup.
- Main Window Visible or Hidden on startup.
- Which page to show by default when PC Surgeon starts. This can be the system summary or the - - Graphical System Monitors.
System Monitors.
- Enable System Monitors.
- Each system monitor can monitor:
- Memory load
- CPU usage
- Disk storage
- Network packets
- Adapter packets.
- Upper Left.
- Upper Right.
- Lower Left.
- Lower Right.
- Monitor Alarms. Set the Alarm threshholds for the various system monitors.
Activity Monitor.
- General Settings.
- Start logging when PC Surgeon starts.
- Show activity events on monitor page.
- Maximum entries to display.
- Save activity events to a text file.
- Disk Activity.
- Log file creations.
- Log file deletions.
- Log File updates.
- Log file renames.
- Select drive to monitor.
- Registry Activity.
- Registry activity logging active checkbox.
- Registry root.
- Registry root key.
- Windows Activity.
- Window creation.
- Window destruction.
- Window activation.
- Shell program start.
- Shell program close.
- Shell program switch.
- Keyboard/Mouse.
- Log keyboard activity
- Log mouse-click activity.
- Internet.
- Log URLs visited using IE browsers.
