Scan and Delete Monitor
This function provides a scheduled event that will scan for specific files or registry objects and delete them if found.
Click the "Configure" button to modify the monitor's settings.
KeepAlive!
This function performs a monitoring role on your system to ensure that specified processes (programs) or services are actively running. When a process is not found (task manager) or a service is discovered as stopped or halted (service manager) then KeepAlive! will attempt to restart the process or service.
On the KeepAlive monitor screen, use the Configuration button to modify the KeepAlive settings.
To start KeepAlive! monitoring, check the "KeepAlive! is Active" checkbox. Uncheck this item to stop monitoring.
Processes under watch table:
- Process Name. The name of the process being watched as set in the configuration.
- Status. "Process running", "Process restarted".
- Last Checked. The timestamp when KeepAlive! last checked this process.
- Last Restarted. The timestamp when KeepAlive! last restarted this process.
- Application. The path to the application that will be used to restart this process.
Services under watch table:
- Service Name. The name of the Service being watched as set in the configuration.
- Status. "Service running", "Service restarted".
- Last Checked. The timestamp when KeepAlive! last checked this service.
- Last Restarted. The timestamp when KeepAlive! last restarted this service.
If the PC Surgeon log is active (see configuration) then each KeepAlive! action will be recorded in the log.
Process Blocker
This component of PC Surgeon allows you to define a list of processes that will be blocked from running on your system. Many of today's viruses and popups are generated by processes introduced onto your system.
Save System Information
The functions in this section are targeted towards setting Windows restore points for future recovery of key elements of the operating system.
There is also a link to the Microsoft Restore Point Console that will allow to select restore points for restoration.
